Nine Planets Solar System Knowledge Base

Do any American school system teach both a nine and an eight planet solar system? Some school systems teach two versions of the JFK assassination. 1. They teach the Warren Commission version which hardly anybody believes. 2. They also teach the various conspiracy theories that most people believe but can't decide on which scenario is the most plausible. Since a lot of people refuse to accept the AU edict that Pluto is no longer a planet do school systems teach a 'Nine Planet Solar System' in their science classes along with the version parroting the IAU's dogma?
As of now our solar system has nine planets. Do we have the same structure from the very beginning? We come across the news that many stars are changing their structure over a billion of years time. That means their planets must also have some changes in their physical and chemical nature. If so what changes might have occurred in our solar system in the past over a billion / trillion of years. And in future what changes may occur? Was there any addition or deletion in the number of planets?
Is Galileo the first to know about nine planets in our solar system? When in india u find 1000yrs old temples in the name of planets(NAVGRAHA),why it is that we indians study, Galileo is the first person to say that there are nine planet in our solar system
Do you believe that the nine planets in our solar system are possible to have a straight alignment? One time I watch a movie which is "Lara Croft: Tomb Raider" (starring Angelina Jolie) and it shows that the 9 planets in our solar system forming a straight line behind the sun from mercury to pluto, and they called "Illuminati".. and they say that it will happen again on next 5,000 years. Is it possible? How can you explain it to me?.. Show your best reason and your own principle.
Need to know if they still teach that there are nine planets in our solar system? I have to do a mock elementary school teaching lesson and it has to be about our solar system. I wasn't sure if teachers today still teach that pluto is a planet or not? Should I still include pluto in my lesson or not?

Why are their only nine planets in the solar system? Why couldn't there be ten instead of nine?
what are the two main general categories (excluding Pluto) into which the nine planets of our solar system..? ...can be grouped and what are some characteristics of each category? Note: Are the categories Uber planet and unter planets?
We all know that there are 9 planets in our solar system, but do you think that there is another life force? Many scientists believe that there is another life force in our solar system, which I don't doubt, but I'm trying to gain the opinion from people on the possibility of whether or not that there is another life force as close as Mars, or any of the other nine planets in our solar system.
WHAT ARE THE PLANETS IN OUR SOLAR SYSTEM AND SOME DETAILS ABOUT TI? Planets Planets In Our Solar System Planets are a similar body revolving about a star other than the sun. There were 9 planets in the solar system. However, the International Astronomical Union decided that Pluto is no longer a planet, so there are now only 8 planets in the Solar System. Pluto is no longer a planet because astronomers discovered a new object larger than Pluto. Our solar system consists of the sun, eight planets, moons, dwarf planets (or plutoids), an asteroid belt, comets, meteors, and others. The sun is the center of our solar system; the planets, their moons, the asteroids, comets, and other rocks and gas all orbit the sun.The eight planets that orbit the sun are (in order from the sun):Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune . A belt of asteroids (minor planets made of rock and metal) lies between Mars and Jupiter. These objects all orbit the sun in roughly circular orbits that lie in the same plane, the ecliptic. The largest planet is Jupiter. It is followed by Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, Earth, Venus, Mars, and Mercury. Jupiter is so big that all the other planets could fit inside it. The inner planets are: Mercury, Venus, Earth, and Mars. They are relatively small, composed mostly of rock, and have few or no moons. The outer planets include: Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune,. They are mostly huge, mostly gaseous, ringed, and have many moons. The planet with the longest day is Venus ; a day on Venus takes 243 Earth days. The planet with the shortest day is Jupiter ; a day on Jupiter only takes 9.8 Earth hours. There are currently nine planets in our solar system. Each planet orbits around the Sun. When a planet makes a complete path around the Sun, it is called a revolution. Our planet, Earth, takes approximately 365.25 days to make a revolution. Planets that are farther away from the Sun take longer to make a revolution. Planets spin on an axis, which is an imaginary line that goes through the center of the planet. The time it takes Earth to rotate on its axis equals one day or 24 hours (homeschool-curricula.suite101.com). All of the giant planets in our solar system have rings: Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune. Jupiter's ring is thin and dark, and cannot be seen from Earth. Saturn's rings are the most magnificent; they are bright, wide, and colorful. Uranus has nine dark rings around it, and Neptune's rings are also dark, but contain a few bright arcs ( Dave Kornreich).
which planet can be found in the centre of the solar system? why are there nine planets in the solar system?
12 planets in our Solar System? Since astronomer people are debating on having 12 planets in our solar system, how will we remember the order fo the planets... meaning... right now we have: My [Mercury] Very [Venus] Educated [Earth] Mother [Mars] Just [Jupiter] Showed [Saturn] Us [Uranus] Nine [Neptune] Planets [Pluto] But now there is Ceres, Charon, and 2003 UB313 [name changed to Xena] New Solar System consists of: [Mercury] [Venus] [Earth] [Ceres] [Mars] [Jupiter] [Saturn][Uranus] [Neptune] [Pluto and Charon] [2003 UB313 (Xena)] How would we remember the order then? and plus we're going to need new BOOKS, TOYS, POSTERS ETC. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/science/nature/4795755.stm?ls

Search the Internet and the Library to find the mass and radius of three of the nine planets in our solar? system. Be sure that the masses are expressed in kilograms and the radii are expressed in meters. Using your data, calculate the gravitational acceleration on each of the three planets you selected. Note: With the masses measured in kilograms and the radii in meters, the units of gravitational acceleration would turn out to be meters per squared seconds. Use the gravitational accelerations that you calculated in Step 2 to find the period of a 2 meter long simple pendulum on each of the three planets. Note: The length of a simple pendulum is normally expressed in meters, so it is sufficient to replace L with the number 2 in the period expression. Thanks again in advance!
whythe planet Pluto was removed from the solar system? solar system comprises of Nine planets but now there are only eight .pl explain in detail.
Do we have a 10th planet in our solar system and if we do, what is its name ?.? I know Pluto has been declasified to a dwarf planet. But in schools I see they are still teaching nine plants in the solar system plus planet "X". Whats the story, the name of plant "X" and what should we be teaching in our schools on ths subject.? Thank you for your input
How fast is our solar system traveling thru space? Okay, I know that our solar system is made up of earth, the sun, the moons and nine planets. How fast are we traveling, how long have we been traveling and where are we going? This will give me some insight on the magnitude of God's power. And people don't know how to ask Him for something. My Bible reads "ask and ye shall receive,......." So listen to this, When people say "Oh, I hadn't been anywhere!!"...Ha,ha......we are 231/4 million miles from where we were yesterday!!!!.....AMAZING!!!....Hang on......God's coming !!!!!!!!
The system made up of our sun and the nine planets orditing around it is the______? a) orion b) Milky way c) universe d) galaxy e) solar system
Is it true that there is another solar system out of this we know? The solar system which i am talking is out this having nine planets including the Earth, because other people believes that far from the normal sun we know there is another sun and probably there will be objects around it known as planets or whatever. P'se answer should base on scientific facts
what is a good way to demonstrate the solar system orbiting(science fair project 3rd grade? my son is doing a science fair project of the solar system he will be making a model demonstrating the sun and nine planets orbiting around it.
Do you think there could be another planet in our solar system? reason? i;ve been thinking that there could be because why would there just be nine planets? or eight planets(pluto)
how do i draw a poster of facts about the solar system? for science i need to draw a poster about the solar system. where are good sites to look for such information? how do i find out about the 'nine' planets, which order they go in... size... their distance from the sun and that sort of information. what are the 'gas giants'? how can i find out this?
What happens now with the solar system? When I was young, I was taught "My Very Elegant Mother Just Sat Upon Nine Pizzas" in order to remember the nine planets. Now that they've found more planets and Pluto is really just a moon, what do we say now?
POLL: How do you remember the order of the Planets in the Solar System? we learned the saying, "My Very Educated Mother Just Served Us Nine Pizzas." but what is it supposed to be now that Pluto is gone? My Very Educated Mother Just Served Us Nine _____ ? lol. i just messed that up. "My Very Educated Mother Just Served Us ___."
my thrd grader is working on a solar system project. how do i help him design an asteroid, comet, and star? Each of these are considered to five points each. We bought the Solar System kit at Michael's but it only provided the sun and nine planets. Any ideas would be apreciated. I know the asteroids fall between Mars and Jupiter, but what should we make it out of? Grey clay? A comet is ice, gas, and rock debris? A star is a ball of fire? More info: The project is made of styrofoam balls cut to proportiante size orbiting the sun on wires that pop into it. I believe I could just a few wires with star, asteroids, and a comet attached to the end?
The sun together with the nine planets and all other celestial bodies that orbit the sun is? a, the Universe b, a galaxy c, our Solar System d, A black hole
are there 9 planets in our galaxynow? Our solar system has nine planets I.do hope u agree with it.
Origins of our solar system? So I've been struggling to understand the concept of how our solar system started. Did all these celestial bodies come from the sun, or did everything in our solar system come from another object that wasn't the sun? If either scenario is true, wouldn't that mean all nine planets have to contain water if they came from the same source?
You randomly select a letter in the English alphabet. What is the probability that the chosen letter does not occur in the name of one of the twelve months of the year and in the name of one of the nine planets in the solar system? For this problem, Pluto is still considered a planet in our solar system.
planets????? Do we believe there are nine planets in our solar system because we know there are or because that's all we've been able to find so far?
Accepted planets, how can we denied this old fact? There are nine planets in our solar system. In increasing distance from the Sun they are: Mercury Mars Jupiter Saturn Uranus Neptune Pluto Seven of them were named after Roman false gods and one Uranus (Greek god). What is The name of the ninth one missing from that list which was not named after a false god and who named it? Genesis 1:10 Thanks to all about Venus which I omitted and pluto not a planet. So many answers but nobody answered the question. Sad!! Man made statues are considered false gods to make a difference with the only creator of those beautiful planets....hu excluding Pluto... =) Gary, science and the bible goes hand and hand. The religious leaders back then didn't want people to be enlightened about anything not just science. Scientific discoveries have proven what the bible has been stated long ago. Mushroom: Thanks for the info You know your planets. Uk sense, I hope you were able to see the beautiful moon last night. Looked like God's soccer ball. Thanks for your input. ;) The Babylonians named the then known planets after their five leading gods and goddesses. A modern historical work explains: “We refer to these planets by their Roman names, but the Romans had adopted the Babylonian terms and simply translated them into their equivalents in Rome. Thus the planet of Ishtar, the goddess of love, became Venus, and that of the god Marduk was changed to Jupiter.” The name “Chaldean,” used by the Babylonians, came to be almost synonymous with “astrologer.”
Is there anyway for the American people to know what we're being told about space is true? Throughout school we as citizens of the United States are taught that they're are nine planets in a solar system but what bothers me is that there are laws that prevent people from sending anything into space I wanted to know is our government hiding something
Diameter of the solar system is approximately: 7,500,000,000 miles.? Diameter of the solar system is approximately: 7,500,000,000 miles. 1.How long would it take to drive this distance? Assume you're going 60 miles per hour. Example: If I want to know how long it takes to travel 1000 miles at 60 miles per hour, I would use the formula: distance = rate x time 1000 = 60 x time /60 /60 16.67 hours = time 2.The distance between the sun and Mercury is approximately: 36,000,000 miles The distance between the sun and Venus is approximately 67,000,000 miles The distance between the sun and Earth is approximately 93,000,000 miles The distance between the sun and Mars is approximately 141,000,000 miles The distance between the sun and Jupiter is approximately 484,000,000 miles The distance between the sun and Saturn is approximately 887,000,000 miles The distance between the sun and Uranus is approximately 1,800,000,000 miles The distance between the sun and Neptune is approximately 2,800,000,000 miles The distance between the sun and Pluto is approximately: 3,600,000,000 miles Learn about scientific notation. Write each of the distances above in scientific notation. 3.Go to this website (or one of your own choosing) and research facts about one of the nine planets listed above. Write a short paragraph in your own words about the planet you choose. 4.Post one interesting fact about the planet you researched in the student discussion area in the discussion group called "Planet Facts." does this waste of space bother anyone else? Sometimes I get bothered by all the wated space in our galaxy. I mean look at it this way, in our solar system there are nine planets and yet only 1 has any life on it, earth. Thats eight planets with no life they are just wasted if only other creatures lived on them. Such a big waste of space imagine how interestign our solar system would be if each of the nine planets had different eco systems with different creatures, it would be fascinating. Do u agree and what are ur thought on this subject?
solar question? what are the nine known planets of our solar system
Why can't theists seem to comprehend how truly insignificant we are in the universe? I found a neat little webpage with some good figures on it to help people understand our insignificance in the universe. Following is a quote from part of the linked site. Our Solar System has nine planets. Our galaxy, the Milky Way, contains 400 billion stars. The Universe contains at least 130 billion galaxies. Therefore, the number of stars in the cosmos is 400 times 130 or 50,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 (50,000 billion billion). All of the sand on the beaches of the earth total 2,000 billion, billion grains. Toss a handful of sand into the air and the number of sand grains you see will approximate the number of stars in the visible Milky Way at night. " I just can't understand how anyone who knows these facts can believe that this is all about us, and that some supreme entity created it all just for the sake of putting a bunch of primates on our tiny little pebble of a planet. http://www.alan-miller.org/getting-things-right/
Can you come up with a solar system mnemonic devise? So there is the old "My (Mercury) Very (Venus) Eager (Earth) Mother (Mars) Just (Jupiter) Served (Saturn) Us (Uranus) Nine (Neptune) Pizzas (Pluto)", but can you come up with a mnemonic devise to help me remember all the planets in order that includes all of the dwarf planets and the sun (not counting the moon)? The starting letters for each word would be S M V E M C J S U N P E.
Solor Systems VS Atoms? I was reading in my science lessen and it says that scientist are starting to believe that atopms and our solor system are related, cause there is a atom that is i think flirona or some thing that has 9 electrons around it circulating it. Here is what I was talking about. heres the lesson Are Atoms Tiny Solar Systems? Our solar system consists of a sun in the middle with nine smaller planets rotating around it in their orbits. The element Fluorine has a nucleus and nine smaller electrons rotating around it in their orbits. This may get you curious. •Is it possible that Fluorine is a solar system similar to ours? •Is it possible that our solar system is really an atom in a bigger universe? •Why study such puzzling things? This lesson will try to answer those questions. Are electrons planets? According to the solar system model of matter, every atom consists of a nucleus with a certain number of electrons rotating about the nucleus in their orbits. Note: More recent theories say that the electrons are better represented as waves, a gas or strings. These theories--as well as the solar system model--all try to represent the real situation. Look at the example of the element Fluorine, which consists of a nucleus and 9 electrons in orbit. Is it possible that the third electron from the nucleus is similar to the third planet from the Sun—our Earth—except on a very small and different scale? Perhaps there are even tiny little people or animals living on that electron. When they look out through their tiny telescopes at the other atoms and molecules around them, perhaps they think they are looking at the whole Universe. This may be stretching our imagination, but is it a possibility? This is like the question: "Do fleas have fleas?" Are planets electrons? Our solar system has nine planets rotating around the Sun. Astronomers have recently determined that other stars also have planets rotating around them. They have not been able to detect how many planets are rotating around other stars or suns, because of the great distances involved. Some stars are very large and some are much smaller than our Sun—just as some atomic nuclei are large and some are small, depending on their atomic number and weight. Since there is this similarity, is it possible that each solar system is really an atom in some physical system? Our solar system could be similar to Fluorine, while others may be like Oxygen, Iron or Uranium. In fact, the Universe we see through our telescopes may be just the collection of billions of atoms that are in a larger Universe. Perhaps we are part of the atoms on another gigantic living being! Puzzles of the universe Of course, none of this can ever be proven—at least not in our lifetime. But it shows that there is a lot more to what is around us than we realize. Thinking and speculation on this sort of thing can be fun to do. Science fiction writers have used such speculation to write stories and movies for use to enjoy. Look beyond what is obvious. Examine similarities and trends in order to draw some conclusions or create a theory. That is what science is all about. In conclusion There is a similarity between solar systems and atoms. By using your imagination, you could suppose that atoms might be tiny solar systems and/or that solar systems may be gigantic atoms. Such speculation is an essential part of scientific study.
some one please help......... what was the first space probe to leave the solar system.? it carries a picture of the sun and the nine planets as well as the pictures of a man and a woman in case other intelligent beings find it.
Facts about the solar system? Can you people give me fun facts about all nine planets thanx
Suppose we imagine the Sun to be about the size of a grapefruit.? Suppose we imagine the Sun to be about the size of a grapefruit. How big an area would the orbits of the nine planets of the Solar System cover? A) the size of a typical campus B) the size of a western state (e.g. Colorado) C) the size of a typical campus building D) the size of a small city E) the size of a typical dorm room
I just read in today's Internet news that Pluto has been demoted from "planet" status. Is this true? Also, will all science books change to say we now have 8 planets in our solar system, instead of nine? I still don' have an answer to my second question, so dont the first 3 expext to get a best answer.
Now that Pluto is not a planet...? ...will the Aliens have a harder time finding us since we sent them a map of a solar system with nine planets in it?
can some one plase help me with my english homework?? thanks so much!! Write the CAPITALIZED modifiers and identify them as adjectives or adverbs. Then write the word that each adjective or adverb modifies. 1.You PROBOBLY know about the nine planets of our SOLAR system. 2.Do you know that SOME scientists think there may actually be more planets? 3.SEVERAL astronomers NOW think there are hundreds or even thousands in OUR solar system 4.Scientists suspect that these planets may be COMPLETELY covered with ice 5.The GREAT majority of these UNDISCOVERED planets could be a thousand times FURTHER away that Pluto. 6.A few, however, may be SOMEWHAT closer. 7.Scientists have not YET figured any of THESE planets. 8.The planets are probably VERY small, and so of course they are QUITE difficult to see. 9.However, a few may be BARELY visible through our MOST sensitive telescopes. 10.Astronomers are SYSTEMATICALLY searching for these DISTANT neighbors. :) thanks xoxo
Oh no, Pluto is no longer a planet....what are we going to do now? all the books to be re-written, have to say 8 instead of nine planets in our solar system.....so many changes....so much money to sent spent changing the neew thought
So religion and science have something in common after all: There goes Pluto? Seems the IAU (Astronomers' Guild) has re-classified Pluto. We are no longer a solar system of nine planets. Every science book (dealing with such matters) in the world will need to be re-written ;-) Arbitrariness is not limited to religion. Shall we have a scientific wake for dear, departed Pluto the planet?
Nibiru...(Planet X) Thoughts, Ideas Comments? Even mainstream astronomers have long speculated that there may be an unknown planet - a Planet X - somewhere out beyond the orbit of Pluto that would account for the anomalies they were detecting in the orbits of Neptune and Uranus. Some unseen body seems to be tugging at them. The finding was reported in the June 19, 1982 edition of the New York Times: Something out there beyond the furthest reaches of the known solar system is tugging at Uranus and Neptune. A gravitational force keeps perturbing the two giant planets, causing irregularities in their orbits. The force suggests a presence far away and unseen, a large object, the long-sought Planet X. Astronomers are so certain of this planet's existence that they have already named it "Planet X - the 10th Planet." The anomalous body was first spotted in 1983 by IRAS (Infrared Astronomical Satellite), according to news stories. The Washington Post reported: "A heavenly body possibly as large as the giant planet Jupiter and possibly so close to Earth that it would be part of this solar system has been found in the direction of the constellation Orion by an orbiting telescope aboard the U.S. infrared astronomical satellite. So mysterious is the object that astronomers do not know if it is a planet, a giant comet, a nearby 'protostar' that never got hot enough to become a star, a distant galaxy so young that it is still in the process of forming its first stars or a galaxy so shrouded in dust that none of the light cast by its stars ever gets through." Nibiru supporters contend that IRAS has, in fact, spotted the wandering planet. "A Mystery Revolves Around the Sun," an article posted by MSNBC on October 7, 1999 said: "Two teams of researchers have proposed the existence of an unseen planet or a failed star circling the sun at a distance of more than 2 trillion miles, far beyond the orbits of the nine known planets... Planetary scientist at Britain's Open University, speculates that the object could be a planet larger than Jupiter." And in December, 2000, SpaceDaily reported on "Another Candidate For 'Planet X' Spotted." Another article and photo appeared in Discovery News: "Large Object Discovered Orbiting Sun." The article, published in July, 2001, says, "The discovery of a large reddish chunk of something orbiting in Pluto's neighborhood has re-ignited the idea that there may be more than nine planets in the solar system." Naming it 2001 KX76. the discoverers estimate that it is smaller than our Moon and might have an elongated orbit, but they gave no indication that it was heading this way. http://adsbit.harvard.edu/cgi-bin/nph-iarticle_query?bibcode=1988AJ.....96.1476H that website will take you to the scientific mathematical aspects that someone has mentioned http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U-3RLx_4Y5Y a 10 minute video www.xfacts.com yes in the video it does show a picture of jupiter but that is just to give you an idea of the size of planet x not that it was the real planet X visual effect because no where does it say that, that picture is planet x If you want better videos visit http://www.xfacts.com they are much more detailed http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m8JgRh2tpL4&feature=related another video
Has our Solar System shrunk? The ninth planet was declared “dead” in 2006 and reduced to a number and called a dwarf. The planet is smaller than the United States mainland; its day lasts 6.4 Earth years and its orbit around the sun 248 Earth years. Death of a Planet by Elaine P Pity the tiny, deleted orb our ninth planet dwarfed by science ostracized by all its siblings reclassified as number 124340. Planet nine of nine lifted out of the Collective until the end of time and space to circle ‘round the Sun alone only asteroids for kin. This is an acrostic; the lines can't be switched!! Charon has been demoted also. If Pluto isn't a planet, it can't have a moon.

Can anyone help with these quiz puzzles;? I am working on a quiz which involves letters and numbers and am stuck on these. 45 S at W a RR. 1,000,000 PMY a M. 22 TLD, 40 LBA Other examples are: 9 P in the SS which stand for Nine planets in the solar system. I would really appreciate some help.
what about this question? The period of a simple pendulum is normally expressed using the variable T and is measured in seconds. It can be calculated using the length of the pendulum, L, and the acceleration due to gravity, g, using this expression: The gravity that holds us on the earth and makes objects fall is familiar to all of us. What may not be quite as well-known, however, is that the acceleration due to gravity is actually determined by the mass (amount of material) and the radius of our planet (Note: The radius of a planet is the distance from the center of the planet to its surface.) If we represent the mass with the variable M (measured in kilograms) and the radius by the variable r (measured in meters), the acceleration due to gravity for a planet can be found from the expression: where G is a constant called the Universal Gravitational Constant. This constant has the value as shown here: G = 6.67 x 10-11 N m2 k g-2 Assignment: Search the Internet and the Library to find the mass and radius of three of the nine planets in our solar system. Note: The length of a simple pendulum is normally expressed in meters, so it is sufficient to replace L with the number 2 in the period expression.

question???? 1. Search the Internet and the Library to find the mass and radius of three of the nine planets in our solar system. Be sure that the masses are expressed in kilograms and the radii are expressed in meters. 2. Using your data, calculate the gravitational acceleration on each of the three planets you selected. Note: With the masses measured in kilograms and the radii in meters, the units of gravitational acceleration would turn out to be meters per squared seconds. 3. Use the gravitational accelerations that you calculated in Step 2 to find the period of a 2 meter long simple pendulum on each of the three planets. Note: The length of a simple pendulum is normally expressed in meters, so it is sufficient to replace L with the number 2 in the period expression.
