In Across the Universe is max gay? I'm really getting the vibe during the film. For instance, when singing "With a Little Help From My Friends" when he sings 'do you believe in love at first sight?' he's staring a group of rather attractive men. He is told by his friends just to tell the recruiting officers he's gay, and he acts like he has a crush on Jude through the whole movie. Has anyone else noticed this or am I just imagining things?

Gay characters in Mercedes Lackey's Valdemar universe? I'm hoping someone who's read this series can help me answer a question. I kissed another guy, does that make me gay? Im 18 and i've always had a problem- people keep saying im gay. Either a situation misfires or something is said that makes it appear that i am gay. There was another time where i tried to hid from the teacher by hiding under my desk.... my lab partner (a guy) was off at another table with a friend. It's as if all the pedophilic priests and all the gay evangelists and the hooker-loving, cocaine-snorting family values GOP crusaders really want us to know that there exists no bastion of stiff, sanctimonious "moral" values that is not, at its core, corrupt and messy and wrongheaded as the Taliban at a nudist colony. Oh yes he has. After all, this is the same sniveling Larry Craig who snickered that Bill Clinton was a "bad, nasty, naughty boy" during Lewinskygate, the same Craig who helped to enact the military's brutal, failed "don't ask, don't tell" policy (which, as Slate's William Saletan points out, is a complete and degrading sham -- if you don't tell, they make you tell), the same senator who voted for the Defense of Marriage Act and against adding sexual orientation to the list of punishable hate crimes. In fact, Craig's classic case of GOP hypocrisy, of the chasm between his homophobic public persona and his homosexual personal lusts is simply so blatant, so undeniably grotesque, he becomes a bizarre case study, a cultural curio, a deeply fascinating -- albeit largely nauseating -- archetype, full of obvious but still mandatory lessons for us all. Why do religious people hate gay people? If God created the universe and everything in it, then that must mean he created Man. If Everything god creates is perfect, then that must mean, even gay people are perfect, according to god. So, If god created straight people, then he obviously created gay people. Should Ted Haggard become a spokesman for gay rights? I am completely serious. I think he is a perfect example of a man who has tried very hard to become something different than what he is but it hasn't worked. Not in 50 years. Can it be good to be gay? It is not unusual to find that in the animal world of which we all ar a part of, to find gay's praticing and exercising their natural tendancies. Nature has not lost the ability to make natural things that do different things. To suggest that Gay's are somehow unnatural is wrong. Man' strongest instinc is to reproduce. No question. Not good. The bible is full of retribution for a number of practices that are "legal" today. That is about in line with other discrepancies of the bible. We pick and choose freely, from the verces and what not in the bible to justify our position on various issues, why not this one. Having said this our, only recorse then is to useour own lgic and inteligence to resolve this issue. To condem any gay's or their practices, we need to firdt figure out what God would do when these souls get to heven. God, to deny these souls heven, would have to admit to a failure in producing a perfect soul. A perfect God can not admit to a failure, this is suposed to be imposible for a God. We see then that it is only our own failure to percieve the perfection of these souls that make us dislike them. This indicates that any believer must by force of the phylosophy of our bible, accept these souls because the benevalence of God would override all other aspects of this issue. We need to assume that God allows gay's and lesbians toexist for a reason, that reason may be to teach us something about descrimination. Is an alternate reality a dimension that's the result of different choices that cause divergent paths in the time stream with an infinite amount of variables (e.g. driving down a street destined to have a terrible accident and you get involved if you go)? I know that even in today's new age society children are still being brought up in a largely homophobic environment and now I know the government can be partly blamed for this. I decided to do some more research into the matter and found that same-sex marriage is only legal in 6 countries!!! out of the hundreds there are, namely, South Africa, Belguim, Canada, Norway, Netherlands, Spain and some parts of the US. I heard figures that around 1 in 10 people are gay, so in affect, in most of the world, 10% of all people are not allowed to get married. In what universe is that fair!!!!! The thing that is really bothering me that I can't think of any reasons why this should be the way it is, there may be some reasons, and even if they are they probably not be very good ones. So what would be the dire consequences of gay marriage, so much so that it should be considered illegal, in my mind there are only good consequences. Hasen't every one been brought up to believe that marriage is an expression of love. So why is it that millions of people are not allowed to express there love for one another just because they are the minority. I'm pretty sure that's called discrimination. I'm sick of the old fashion thoughts that we are stuck to, a man should love a woman and nothing else. "Gay is a choice", how secure is your sexuality? I've heard a lot from some christians about homosexuals apparently choosing to trigger homosexual feelings in their brain (Yes they said that). Apparently, it's a choice. The Universe is not three dimensional, And for those of you who dont understand how the universe could be flat, let me explain it to you like this: Look at a picture of a distant galaxy. What do you see? A flat glowing disk. What is this flat glowing disk made of? Why 3-400,000,000,000 spherical "stars" and their satellites. I also believe that this reflects the microcosmic fact that subatomic particles take on the properties of both waves and particles at the same time. Even more eerie, is that sub-atoms are waves when we are not looking, and particles when we are observing. Hmm. The mechanics of our reality is complex, and its more than humorous to me when any human thinks they are 100% correct, because we aren't even a 100,000,000,000 trillionth of a spec on a spec compared to the size of reality... if reality has a size, because I have a hunch that the ultimate reality is a singular point of infinitely dense energy, and this point is infinitely extra dimensional, and all energy within the sub-atom is a reflection of this point, hence the reason sub-atoms can communicate with each other instantly no matter how far across the universe they are from each other. ... Yes, we live in a strange universe that a lot of us don't want to imagine, and the other half cant comprehend it, most irritating to me others that don't ever think about it at all, and the others go insane because it all makes too much sense.
