I need an example of a career in Quantum Mechanics and Electromagnetism. Please give me the name of the career and why it is involved in these areas. Thanks

- Just about all careers in QM are academic professorships of one sort or another. A very few are in industry as applied physics.
- The career is called 'physicist'. You'd need a PhD to do research in those fields, but the practical applications of the field are found everywhere. E&M runs everything in your house. QM runs your computer and the NMR machine at the hospital. With a PhD in physics, you could be hired to work in these fields by universities, national labs, and some private industry.
- You can go into physics, chemistry or engineering (materials and electrical).
