Can our genes acquire information about our development in our lifetime OR they are just passed on?

suppose i have child when i am 20 and one more when i am 40, and if i have earned a Phd in astronomy, a black belt in karate and have done lots of other stuff in these interim 20 years, will there be any difference in my gene composition in these two kids that are born to me.

  1. Your genetics can be modified by the chemicals in the environment which may result in differences between the two children. Knowledge (astronomy, karate, etc.) is not something that will be passed down to your children.
