Gay views on the universe?
I know a lot of homosexuals have distanced themselves from religion, particularly Christianity, because of what they say about our lifestyles, but I want to poll people here: do more gays out there subscribe to religion (and if so what), or to the abiogenesis/evolution/big bang theories? Or both? Or neither? Reasons why? Bad title, I didnt mean how does being gay affect your perception of the universe, I only meant how do homosexuals view the universe

- What do you mean "Gay views on the universe"? I find this question kind of offensive. But anyways I'm an atheist, not because of my sexuality. My sexuality has nothing to do with my religious. ANyways I believe in logic and reason. We should all ask ourselves questions and fight the injustices. Oh and btw I'm bi
- I like to believe in an all powerful entity of some sort, that inspired the big bang which created life and led to evolution of man. I'm technically catholic, but we'll see how long that lasts once i'm out of the house, for obvious reasons. I like to believe in an a god, because it's a way to remain humble and provides me with a moral conscience of sorts.
- Both, i follow a polytheist belief of many religions coupled with some elder beings of my own imagination. and yet i refer to myself as an agnostic, because i do not believe these beings rule over me so much as exist and can alter our perceptions of reality to a limited degree.
- "Gay views on the universe" - What? 1. Sexuality has nothing to do with how one views science and the universe. 2. Many distance themselves from religion because it is complete nonsense 3. Though I disagree, religion and science are not polar opposites. There are many religious people who fully accept the scientific explanation of events I'm an atheist because I see no need and no evidence for a god or supreme being. I accept scientific explanations of things because they fit the facts and change when new evidence is put forth
- Abiogenesis seams feasible. Evolution has tons of evidence. The Big Bang theory explains a lot of things in the Universe. Science simply attempts to empirically understand nature, with facts. Religion attempts to emotionally explain the unknown with superstitions.
- Well, I'm a Methodist Protestant, we're more relaxed on Homosexuality. But I chose that path. My Father's Catholic and my Mother's Presbyterian. And I know Catholics' stand on it, not sure on Presbyterian. But yeah, I'm kind of in between. I mean, obviously there's evolution. But what created the first beings? (Gases exploding doesn't cut it for me)
- i am gay/trans and christian. i believe that God created the universe. how He did that is way beyond my little brain's ability to get. observation and common sense tell me that evolution is occurring as we speak....i suppose that has something to do with God's plan. i doubt that all of darwin's observations will prove to be entirely accurate after all is said and done, but he sure was a logical and pragmatic observer..so i wouldn't be surprised if allot of it comes out looking pretty much like he figured. the big bang? <giggle> physics is way out of my range...i can't even add 2+2 together twice in a row and come up with the same answer...so the simple view: God was hanging out one day wherever it was He hung out in those days and just up and decided to exist in this particular form. <poof>...or what we now say <big bang> He exists...and we are Him. i hold these views because i don't know any better. i am christian because Christ called me to follow Him one day and i found the offer irresistable. much love and hope. pj
- I am a former Christian, no more so. Now agnostic of sorts - but in general a functional materialist (ie if there is a god, or gods, they clearly haven't interacted with us much). I subscribe to the abiogenesis (or as I say abio biogenesis) and big bang theories, though I don't see them as the only way it could have started. Evolution is very well evidenced, and I find it very helpful as a model of life. Abiogenesis is very well-explained, the big bang is well evidenced, but I don't focus on them much because I don't need to.
